Indian weddings are glamorous, larger-than-life with over-the-top arrangements for all the guests who seem to go beyond a thousand in number easily.

If you’ve ever been to an Indian wedding, you must have seen the whole charade of loud music and dance nights with expensive lehengas everywhere!

All that you have seen till now is true, the great Indian wedding makes you feel like you’re in a luxurious palace with over a thousand people dolled up in pretty gowns that seem to cost them a fortune, especially for the bride and the groom.

The whole affair stretches over a period of 4-5 days with different rituals on each day and every opportunity is seized to play loud Bollywood music that frankly caters mainly to weddings with all its superfluous arrangement.

Although the whole experience is a treat for the guests, it is certainly very loud and overrated. The parents of the groom and bride with their extended family seem to be in a perpetual state of frenzy as they try to navigate the process.

The Indian wedding doesn’t just stop at being loud, it has the whole atmosphere of pretentious people weighing you down with stares, typical of most relatives.

It is obnoxiously grand and sometimes you wonder if all this really even worth it when what really matters is that you’re with the love of your life.

With loud screams, and cameras on the face of the couple and guests covering the whole length of the hall, the whole affair of the wedding seems quite overwhelming and often makes you want to run away to someplace calmer.

The preparation starts months before the wedding and if you take one good look at the ambience of the wedding, it is reasonable to say that money does grow on trees for these people, especially with the perfectionist angle of many people who do want a loud and conventionally attractive arrangement of the big fat Indian wedding.

  1. To each their own? Lol. Indian weddings are one of the best things about the culture! I was looking up how loud the music is at receptions haha. There is so many traditions that make two people coming together, honored. If someone wants to celebrate their new life with their family and have a great time–that is FAR from obnoxious. Tsk tsk.
