The news of gangster Vikas Dubey being killed in an encounter has certainly spread across the country like wildfire.
His case already being so fresh in the public mind, what with his recent escape attempt from the police that led to the tragic death of 8 policemen, it has certainly got people talking.
Dubey was one of the most wanted criminals in Uttar Pradesh after this incident which also ended up taking the life of Deputy Superintendent Devendra Mishra.
However, he was suddenly arrested in Madhya Pradesh yesterday on 9th July and had reportedly surrendered to the police.
He was reportedly being transported to Kanpur from MP in a police convoy when just around 30 km away from the destination, he was killed in an encounter.
What Happened?
Apparently, as per reports, Vikas Dubey was trying to escape from the police when one of the police cars had gotten into a road accident.
One of the three police cars that were transporting him had overturned on the highway.
During the commotion, Dubey had allegedly tried to make a break for it and even snatched a weapon from one of the police officers.
According to reports, the police stated that he then tried to run to a field closeby and refused to surrender when he was asked to do so.
This resulted in a crossfire which ultimately led to Dubey being killed in an encounter.
Although Dubey has a long track record of crimes dating back to the 1990s including crimes like attempted murder, kidnapping, extortion, rioting and more, his sudden death has raised a lot of questions.
Many people believe that the encounter was fake and done to actually cover up some big names who could have been forced to come out if a full-on investigation had been carried out for the accused.

Not just this, but certain posts have revealed how his encounter was actually predicted by some people online.
There might be some merit to these conspiracy theories as there are some strange things related to the encounter.
As per a report from NDTV, a video surfaced that showed Dubey in a different car than the one that overturned when his car was at a toll plaza around 4 am.
One has to ask the reason why his car was changed, and also why the media stopped following the convoy around 2km away from where the accident took place.
The same report by NDTV also mentions how eyewitnesses were told by the police to leave the area.

Many people also made memes on how corrupt politicians had allegedly gotten this done since an investigation on him could have exposed their names as well.
There hasn’t exactly been any confirmation to any of these theories but people are raising more and more questions on how his encounter went about and the loopholes surrounding it.
