Virat Kohli’s Fight With Aussie Reporters Over Filming Without Consent Goes Viral

-

Virat Kohli has been going viral for a recent clip of him from an airport in Australia and what he said to the media there.

There has been much buzz around Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma’s plans to shift their base to the United Kingdom (UK) soon and the cricketer’s less-than-ideal performance in recent matches.

However, Kohli was seen sternly calling out Australian media and telling them they could not film him and his kids without consent.

What Did Virat Kohli Say?

The incident happened on Thursday, December 19, when the Indian cricket team landed in Melbourne, Australia, from Brisbane for the fourth Test, which will start on Boxing Day.

As per reports, a few Channel 7 journalists were interacting with Australian pacer Scott Boland when Kohli was noticed coming out of the Melbourne Airport with his family.

Soon, the cameras shifted focus and started filming his arrival, which irked Kohli to the point where he started to scold them for filming and not respecting their privacy.

In the now viral clip, Kohli can be heard saying, “With my kids, I need some privacy, you can’t film without asking me.”

However, the cricketer was eventually told that it was a misunderstanding and that his children were not being filmed.

Channel 7 reporter Theo Doropoulos also said, “It was upon seeing the waiting cameras that Kohli became a little heated over what is largely a misunderstanding when he thought the media was filming him with his children.”

According to reports, Kohli was even introduced to the Channel 7 cameraman with whom he shook hands afterwards.

Another clip also came out where it can be that Virat Kohli is speaking with a journalist supposedly.

The clip, however, saw mixed reactions from people with some supporting Kohli’s right to privacy especially for his children, others didn’t see the big deal and felt the cricketer was being aggressive without cause.

One X/Twitter user wrote, “An Australian journalist shamelessly tried filming Virat Kohli’s kids, despite him requesting them not to. When confronted, the journalist arrogantly said, ‘This is a public area.’ If someone asks you not to film their kids, why would you insist?”

Another user commented, “Let the dude and his family live people. Leave them alone. Respect his privacy and his family’s.”

There were also those criticising Kohli with one Facebook user writing, “Lol, this waste breed Delhi kid. Such pathetic behaviour. Better not travel—stay at home if he can’t handle stardom,” while another wrote, “Instead of controlling journalists’ actions, first try controlling your urge to play at all balls bowled outside off stump!”

A few other users on X/Twitter wrote, “He should also think of not abusing people on the field thinking kids do watch cricket. These things do come with fame and he has to accept it. He is treating his kids as they are like royal kids and someone will clone another like them.”

One user commented writing “A) Its not against the rules to take pictures B) He is not in India, jo isko rona dhona sune ga. C) Dont travel with your kids if you have that much concern about privacy”

This is not the first time the couple has been protective of their children and their privacy especially with them often requesting the paparazzi to not click photos of their family.
