Elon Musk never fails to amaze us and capture the limelight. About a month ago, his SpaceX mission gave us hope of a new technologically advanced future.
But with his startup Neuralink, Elon Musk claims to reach greater heights by connecting the human brain with artificial intelligence.
Neuralink was founded in 2016. After the initiation, the company held only one public presentation to talk about the workings of the technology.
In 2019, Elon Musk shared an update on the technology stating that he is working on a “sewing machine-like” device. The device will directly connect the computer to the chip inserted inside the brain.
Key Features Of The Chip
Elon Musk has been dropping hints about his Neuralink chip through his recent tweets. The hints are euphoric enough to amaze anyone.
According to him, the chip can control hormone levels and can help in the treatment of various brain disorders and help in enhancing human brains.

With his tweets, Elon Musk claims that his chip can cure depression, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), and other mental illnesses.

This is a music lover’s dream come true!
The capabilities of Neuralink seem blurry, and what this chip can do and can not do is ambiguous. But one thing is clear, this chip aims to up the game of our music experience.
Procedure For Installing Neuralink Chip
In a talk with MIT research scientists, Elon Musk said that the process of installing the chip will be similar to laser eye surgery.
A part of the skull will be removed to insert the device into the brain. The robot designed by Neuralink will insert the electrode threads into the brain using a needle.
The interface connects to the brain through “threads” and each thread is ten times thinner than a human hair.
The company has already carried out trials on animals, and human trials are said to start this year.
According to the research paper available on the Neuralink website, the device claims that a single USB-C cable can provide a “full bandwidth data streaming” to the brain.
To be honest, the claims seem too good to be true. The next progress update will be released on 28th August and we hope it provides more insights into the project.
