Our favorite Bengali didi has always stood out from the crowd whenever it comes to political jibes and taking digs at her opponents. Likewise, her Murshidabad rally on 9th February at Berhampore stadium was no exception.

What Happened?

Ahead of the Bengal elections, the present chief minister Mamata Banerjee took no time to do a hatchet job on the former TMC leaders who had joined BJP. Making a historical reference, she compared these carpet crossers to Mir Jafar, who had betrayed Siraj Ud Daulah to join the East India Company.

But anyone who has observed Mamata Banerjee over the years would know that that must not be it. She would definitely have given the memers some new content that could go viral on social media. Well, yes, she has lived up to your expectations!

While addressing the public at Murshidabad, she said, “A few naughty cows left the party to join BJP…”. She further added, “They are now making a lot of noise — hamba hamba, ramba ramba, kamba kamba, dumba dumba, bomba bomba. The sooner they leave the party, the better”.

For those who are not acquainted with the Bengali culture—she was talking about the noises a bovine animal makes from its muzzle or hoof.

How Did The Meme Fest Start?

As soon as the video caught the eyes of the netizens, memes started pouring in.

Some of the non-Bengalis found it similar to Tamil. Others honored her as one of the best rappers in India. In short, creativity was all over the place.

Apart from the fun part of these election rallies, the political clashes have intensified over time and intend to be so until the elections. On the one hand, BJP has used all its might to ensure a whopping majority.

On the other hand, Mamata Banerjee is “110% confident” of winning at least 221 seats. Therefore we have to wait and watch to see how the future unfolds. But until then, let’s enjoy the memes that seem to be all over the place.
