The beauty of blogging lies in the opportunity of writing one’s own views along with the news and in the blog, one can sincerely put opinions and share feelings with the readers.
Since the past few months, our world is going through a rough patch due to the massive outbreak of coronavirus and every other day the bulletins are filled with stories of infected people and people who have lost their lives, jobs or families because of COVID-19.
The Silver Lining
This is a hard time when we need to stay positive and motivated. We need to keep in mind that this is another phase which will pass.
While the earth is teaching us many useful lessons in a hard way, it is showing the brave and beautiful pictures of human beings too who not only are making us proud and overwhelmed but giving us hope for a beautiful future.
Bhasha Mukherjee – Brave & Beautiful
Today, I will be talking about Bhasha Mukherjee, Miss England, 2019. She was also a participant of Miss World pageant. The 24-year-old doctor turned model was born in Kolkata and moved to England when she was 9. Recently she has put her pageant life on hold and returned to the National Health Service (NHS) front lines as a doctor. She will be working as a doctor at a hospital in eastern England.

Earlier Mukherjee took a career break as a junior doctor after competing in the Miss World pageant in December 2019 and was invited to be an ambassador for several charities.
She told to CNN, “I was invited to Africa, to Turkey, then to India, Pakistan and several other Asian countries to be an ambassador for various charity work.”
But as the situation worsened back in the UK, Mukherjee received information from her former colleagues regarding the same and she contacted the hospital’s management team and conveyed that she wanted to return to work.
Despite staying involved in different humanitarian work, Bhasha felt that it is important to get back to the duty as people of her country are facing consequences because of COVID-19 and her own colleagues are working so hard to cope up with this crisis.
Bhasha Mukherjee is not the only one, even Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar is going back to work as a doctor to help tackle the pandemic.
Mukherjee, who spent her early childhood in Kolkata speaks five languages. She has a Bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nottingham. She believes that her participation in Miss England and Miss World helps her connect with the medical profession and avail the platform to spread the message of healthy living, especially within UK’s Indian community.
You are a brave, brainy and beautiful doctor! Keep inspiring!
