Apart from the beautiful landscape, the North-eastern states of India have given the world some wonderful poets whose poems should definitely be on a romantic’s read-list.
North-east India has remained relatively less traversed and even lesser-known. This isolation began in the colonial era, with the British adopting separate policies to administer the North-east.
After independence, the North-eastern states viewed merging with the rest of the country with apprehension. Even today, the area is highly prone to insurgency and violence.

Their poems not only spell the violent air that engulfs their lands but also seek the discovery of oneself and eternal peace.
