Why Has AAP Outperformed Every Other Party In The Education Sector?

-

Delhi government schools fared better in comparison to private schools for the second time in a row in the CBSE Class 12 results, which was declared on 28th May.

IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE

The pass percentage for government schools is 88.27 percent whereas private schools recorded 79.27 percent, a difference of 9 percent. Last year, the gap between the government and private schools’ pass percentage was 2 percent.

This impressive result is not a one night wonder. It has been due to the honest efforts of AAP in the education sector.

A PIONEER IN EDUCATION REFORMS AMONG POLITICAL PARTIES

In contrast to other parties,  AAP doubled its budget for education to 9,836 crores, making education its topmost priority accounting for about 25% of the total budget. AAP showed early in the day that it meant business in fixing Delhi’s education system.

AN HONEST AND TALENTED EDUCATION MINISTER

Dr. Manish Sisodia is at the helm of Education ministry and is ably assisted by Oxford Rhodes Scholar Atishi Marlena.  On the policy side, education is being looked after by IIM B alumnus and Career Launcher founder Satya Narayanan to advise the government on the various policy steps it should take to realize the aim of affordable and quality education. They are helped by over a dozen volunteers who work passionately for the concerned cause.

Manish Sisodia has initiated “SMC-Dialogue” — meetings with school management committees. AAP Gov has also decided to cut down syllabus at around 25% from class 6 to 8 to lessen the burden and to make education comparatively more skill based.

Over 8,000 classrooms have been constructed for the upcoming season. Recruitment of over 10,000 teachers is in place to address the teacher- student ratio. The powers of principals to take administrative and financial decisions without heading to the education dept. for permission have been increased multifold times.

OTHER PARTIES NEED TO TAKE A LEAF OUT OF AAP’S BOOK

We might criticize AAP as much as we want and make fun of Kejriwal but when it comes to the education sector, its performance is commendable and praiseworthy. We just hope that the other political parties take a leaf out of AAP’S book.
