Kyrie Irving was supposed to be Boston’s savior. His controversial trade to the Boston Celtics, a deal which saw Isaiah Thomas joining the Cleveland Cavaliers raised the expectations of the fans from the former Cavs point guard.
And right from the get-go, Kyrie Irving did what he was supposed to do: He delivered. He gelled in quickly with his new teammates and put up a decent average of 24.4 points per game, until his season was put to a halt after a knee surgery due to an infection.
With the Celtics losing Hayward in the first game of the season and now their star point guard in Irving, their playoff hopes are now hanging by a thread.
