Its been a turbulent week for Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan after he was arrested by the NCB in a drug consumption and sale case. Aryan was busted from a cruise ship party he was attending and has since been kept in custody by authorities with the court case currently going on.
On Friday, a Mumbai Court even rejected Aryan’s bail plea, as per reports another bail plea hearing will take place on Wednesday now.
In the meantime, several people from the Bollywood industry have stepped up to show their support to SRK and his son, however, along with that there have also been certain setbacks for SRK’s career with the ed-tech company Byju’s choosing to halt airing his ads and his market value also taking a dip.
In the midst of all this, Arfa Khanum Sherwani, a senior journalist and editor, chose to comment on all this, writing on her Twitter that “Aryan Khan case has nothing to do with him consuming drugs but a clear targeting of Shahrukh. Aryan’s basic right of securing bail is being denied in a free country. SRK is undoubtedly the biggest Muslim superstar of our times. ‘Process as punishment’ is a msg to him to fall in line.”
Her usage of the term ‘Muslim Superstar’ did not sit well with many people, with it even trending on Twitter.
A lot of people online did not like SRK being termed as a ‘Muslim’ superstar, stating that he is an Indian superstar and that religious division should not be made like this.
Many people did not appreciate the journalist trying to bring a communal angle into this situation and a religious divide being made when the matter has nothing to do with it in the first place.
Let us know in the comments below what you think about this. Is it right to call SRK a ‘Muslim superstar’? Are the arguments surrounding it correct?

It would be wrong to label SRK as a Muslim Superstar. Please don’t confine him in religious boundaries.
Generations of Indians have admired his movies, his acting skills. He is the quintessential outsider who emerged as Bollywood’s biggest Superstar
