Paul Parker and Project WiFi: It is Only Up From Here

-

Startup Fortune, July 13, 2020: Project Wifi was started by a group of young aspiring entrepreneurs. At the time, Paul Gerard Parker, Andy Ta Kong, Marcello Cantu, and Mohamed Shakaoat thought they would learn and build their business slowly but within a month it became clear that things were about to scale up in a big way, and they had to take all their experiences and resources and prepare for a business that would be generating more than $150,000 in revenue.

Hi Paul! Can you tell us, who are you, what have you done, and what are you doing?

In high school, I was your usual sporty, sea-loving, surfing, and skateboarding teenager. I loved hanging out with my friends, and I loved Humarock, the coastal town I grew up in. It all started when I moved out of my comfort zone and attended California State University. I studied Media and Marketing for a while and dabbled in real-estate. These experiences made me realize that I wanted to be at the helm of my own company, so I started Hue Digital LLC, a social media marketing agency. I learned the ropes of drop-shipping before joining fellow entrepreneurs to start Project WiFi, an Amazon drop-shipping management company.

What is unique about you or your business?

I’ve always been driving by sales and marketing and by building unique relationships with customers. When we started Project WiFi we made sure that we had a great user experience and strong branding. No matter what business you’re in, the experience your customer receives from your brand is what will get them to convert.

How important is mindset when starting your own business?

Mindset is the determining factor in your success. You’re probably going to fail. You’re probably going to face hard times. It’s almost guaranteed when you start a business. How you react to those situations is what will determine the success or breakdown of your business.

Is creating a team important? If so, how do you go about assembling a team?

We have a great business model at Project WiFi, but I truly believe the success came because we have such an incredible team. As a team, you feed off each other’s dedication, motivation, and creativity. Finding people that complement your own strengths and fill the gaps in your weaknesses is the key to creating the dream team.
