The need for Sex Dolls
Now, an introduction. Sex dolls have been around for a long, long time. The first known instance is the use of a very primitive version of sex dolls by Dutch sailors in the 17th century, to aid them in long voyages.
Well, can you blame them? Weeks on end with nothing but the blank expanse of the sea before you. You will get frustrated. You will need, for the lack of a better term, an outlet. Gotta clean up those pipes, right? RIGHT?
Anyway, sex dolls have been around for a long time. But they really gained prominence in the land of the free, US of A, in the 1950s. The thing is in the 1950s, a law was passed which allowed the sale of ‘sexually explicit material’ over phone order.
Like if Naaptol sold dildos, that’s kind of what happened. You could order something from a catalog which was printed in a magazine. And then the ‘product’ would be delivered to your doorstep.
Initially, it was dildos and handcuffs and things like that, but then sex dolls entered the scene.
To save you from my personal definition, I will quote Wikipedia “sex doll is a type of sex toy in the size and shape of a sexual partner for aid in masturbation. The sex doll may consist of an entire body with face, or just a head, pelvis or another partial body, with the accessories (vagina, anus, mouth, penis) for sexual stimulation. The parts are sometimes vibrating and may be removable or interchangeable.”
An attempt to ruin your childhood
Now, earlier sex dolls used to be just these rubber/silicone structures which could be blown up into a shape that loosely resembled a woman (or a man). Like the kiddie pool, your dad used to blow up for you to play in.
Remember how it used to unfold from its crushed form into a perfectly round shape, just ready to play in?
Now that I have ruined your childhood, let’s move on.
This sex toy industry has blown up into a huge $15 billion industry, with the quality shooting up dramatically.
The sex dolls that I am talking about today are not these shoddy second-grade Sadar-bazar grade dolls. These are high grade, factory made, expertly designed dolls. Spoiler alert: They do makeup on these things.
The inspiration for this article came from Stoned Mode’s video. In the video, they show a proper factory, like the one you would have to manufacture soap or coke or I don’t know…. batman action figures.

These things are made like tanks, literally
The process starts with a metal skeleton which is put into a mold. Like muffins you know. A carefully calculated mixture of silicon is then poured into this mold and it is allowed to set. Exactly like a muffin.
These molds are shaped in sexually attractive, sexually suggestive ways. The bodies that come out of the molds are curvaceous and eerily human like.
Everything from the skin color to the details on the skin, the nails are precise to the point.
Now comes the interesting part. Like a car or tank assembly line has various parts for different models, they do too. Various types of breast sizes, nipple sizes, vaginas and pubic hair. Yes, different types of vaginas. Damn!
There is also an array of teeth, lips, eyes, and years which they pick and choose to the specifications of the client because remember these dolls don’t come cheap. They customize the hell out of it.
But one thing is common across all of them, they fulfill those typical dream body types that everyone wants. Big breasts, ass, and full lips. Well, I guess if you want to live in fantasyland, might as well go all the way.
They then out on MAKEUP. Yes, makeup.
After they have the basic ‘body’ ready. They add on stuff. They add hair, and makeup and provocative dresses like a sexy nurse, sexy secretary, sexy maid…. Basically, every porn category on Pornhub.
And there you have it, that’s how the modern high-end sex dolls are made. An entire industry has come up around people’s need to satisfy their needs. With a proper assembly line, parts for each and every variation of the doll and a finishing department that touches up the product.
