America can be the land of the free and home of the brave, but no one can compete with Indians when it comes to disobeying the rules and putting our lives at unnecessary risk. And therefore, as we witness a tremendous surge in the cases of coronavirus, citizens are equally excited to flout the rules out in the open.

As a result, many parts of the country are put under watch with the implementation of section 144 to prohibit unrequited crowds on the streets. Therefore, the possibility of another impending lockdown cannot be completely ruled out.

What Is The Current Situation?

At present, the active caseload of COVID-19 is more than 2 million, with Maharashtra, Kerala, and Punjab accounting for around 77% of the current cases. As a result, the governments at the state and local levels are reconsidering the idea of another lockdown.

Districts like Pune, Nagpur, and Nashik have imposed night curfew and temporary lockdown for a brief passage of time. Uttarakhand has also announced a complete lockdown in some parts of the state till further announcement.

A night curfew has been imposed in districts in Punjab, while Madhya Pradesh has ordered a lockdown in Bhopal, Indore, and Jabalpur.

The situation does not seem to be getting any better despite the largest vaccination drive working in its full swing.

What Do Netizens Have To Say About It?

If again a nation-wide lockdown is announced, then it will be almost like re-living the last year in a loop. It was around this time that India went into a nation-wide lockdown last year for a significant period of time.

With the fake news of a plausible national lockdown in 2021 doing rounds on the WhatsApp university, the netizens have also decided to take full advantage of this opportunity to put their creative talents to use on Twitter and Instagram alike.

On the one hand, some social media users are happy to have another round of breaks, and it mostly includes the students who have their exams in the upcoming months and the office-goers.

The other group of Twitterati did not take the news of another lockdown very enthusiastically.

This camaraderie could be seen especially amongst those extroverts who were not ready to stay back at their houses for another year. With Holi scheduled in another week, the anger of the netizens was also not hidden.

The funniest of the posts were those that showed how amongst all this, coronavirus actually emerged victorious by being able to spread a second wave of terror on the country that claimed to have almost overcome the crisis.
