T20 is the most exciting format of cricket with a great spectacle on offer for the fans. Things can change very quickly in T20 cricket as just one good over can have a great impact on the overall game.

This short form of cricket was first introduced back in 2003 and it has now become enormously popular around the world. This is especially true for punters who can avail plenty of exciting betting opportunities through the 1xBet cricket betting.

Below we have listed some of the greatest T20 matches of all time.

1- World T20 Final 2007 – India vs Pakistan

This is probably one of the greatest T20 matches of all time. Fierce rivals India and Pakistan met each other in the final of the inaugural ICC World Twenty20.

Pakistan looked on the brink of defeat after a disastrous batting display saw them needing 54 from 24 balls with just three wickets remaining. However, Misbah-ul-Haq hadn’t given up on the match yet as he made a monumental effort to drag the Green Shirts back in the game.

The right-handed batsman thumped Harbhajan Singh for three sixes and suddenly the 158-run target looked achievable with 12 required off the final over. The contest further turned massively in Pakistan’s favour when Misbah smashed Joginder Sharma’s second delivery for a huge sixer.

However, with a memorable victory just in reach, the Man of Crisis failed in his judgement and tried a risky shot that cost Pakistan the inaugural ICC World Twenty20. It was quite a heart-breaking moment for Pakistani fans but they also applauded the efforts of Misbah who played such a brilliant innings.

2- World T20 Final 2016 – West Indies vs England

West Indies’ victory in the World Twenty20 final in 2016 was absolutely logic-defying. Only a few would have backed Darren Sammy’s men when they found themselves needing 19 off the final over.

Chasing the total of 155, the Caribbean side ultimately looked to have come up short despite a feisty 85-run knock from Marlon Samuels. Everyone could imagine what the result of the game would be when English all-rounder Ben Stokes was handed the ball for the last over.

However, what unfolded next is perhaps one of the greatest moments of T20 cricket. Carlos Brathwaite, a relatively unknown figure at that point, smashed a sixer off the first ball creating a faint hope for WI. But shockingly, he went on to hit three more off the next three deliveries to pull off a spectacular victory for West Indies.

3- West Indies vs South Africa – January 2015

South Africa and West Indies played out one of the most thrilling T20 matches of all time in 2015 at the Wanderers, the venue where the Proteas chased down Australia’s mammoth 434 target in 2006. But in January 2015, the African outfit were not the heroes of the match, rather they were made to feel the taste of being on the losing side despite putting together an incredible 231 runs total in the 20 overs.

Faf du Plessis hit a blistering 119-off-56 knock with the help of 11 boundaries and five sixers, and David Miller also chipped in with a quick-fire 47 runs to help SA get to an enormous total.

However, West Indies proved just as ruthless with the bat as their rivals as they produced a record-breaking T20 run chase. Chris Gayle was in the form of his life, with the Jamaican pummelling sixes and fours everywhere to contribute an impressive 90 runs.

Marlon Samuels also showcased his brilliance with the bat as the Windies reached 236-6 with four balls to spare.

4- World T20 2007 – India vs Pakistan

The rivalry between India and Pakistan is like the rivalry between Argentina and Brazil. No team wants more than to beat the other, while their matches also generate a lot of fan interest, with betting tips football particularly in high demand before their games.

India and Pakistan produced two of the most enthralling contests during the inaugural T20 World Cup. While the final stole all the headlines, the two bitter rivals also played another exciting game in the group stages. In fact, the two teams couldn’t be separated after the 20 over and a bowl-out was required to break the tie.

India was restricted to 141 runs thanks to a brilliant spell from Mohammad Asif who took four wickets for 18 runs. Impressive batting from Misbah and Captain Shoaib Malik took the Green Shirts to the brink of success. But the Man of Crisis failed to make the required one run off the last two balls and hence the game headed to the bowl-out.

Indian bowlers managed to hit the target on their first three attempts while Pakistan missed all three, with the Men in Blue ultimately claiming a superb victory.
