Behind The Camera: A Sneak-Peek Into The Making Of Films

-

We in India have always enjoyed watching films. The world of movies for us holds a special place. And what is better than to get a peek in the process of filming. Audience have patiently sat through the credits at the end to see the bloopers and the fun Bollywood stars have on set. But now with YouTube at disposal, makers have let these special videos feature on online media rather on the Silver Screen, so that you can live those moments at any point of time.

Here’s a list of some of the most interesting making of films.

After all the Superstars are also human beings – Presenting the Bloopers!

  1. Main Hoon Na

Because a spitting character means innumerable takes. Poor SRK had to be spitted upon so many times and yet be totally composed. But whatever it is, the film turned out to be great.

  1. Wake Up Sid

Birds can be scary too! Was that intentional or unintentional, but the crew must have had lots of fun for sure. And does Konkana realise she says sorry too often.

Perfectionist Aamir Khan can also create problems for the Production

  1. 3 idiots

To add the credibility aspect, drinking scene requires being high actually. But little did Aamir, Maddy and Sharman know that to complete that specific scene, the production was running around at 3 am in the morning for extra film reels. Not ‘All is Well’ always!

Pranksters

  1. Barfi

Messing with director is fun, when you know he can’t really scold you.  And to be able to pull off a prank on Anurag who is a prankster himself, kudos Ranbir.

  1. Race 2

Making a successful ‘bakra’ needs team co-ordination; otherwise it does not look convincing. Poor Jacqueline is all we can say.

And a word of warning for the other co-stars who have their films lined up with known pranksters of the industry. Beware!

Handling the Ensemble Cast

  1. Dil Dhadkne Do

Too many cooks spoil the broth. Not in the Hindi Film Industry. DDD cast sure knows how to get together and have fun. Shooting with so many actors is definitely a laugh riot in itself.

Outtakes more comical than the Film

  1. Happy New Year

Happy New Year had costumes, set, actors etc. all working in its favour, yet couldn’t be appreciated much by the people. But these behind the scenes make you laugh more than those 3 hours. At the end it’s always fun watching your favourite stars goof up, you feel more close to them.

The Opposite side

  1. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Those sky-diving and scuba diving shots look amazing on the Big Screen. For the beautiful shots, the actors had to overcome their fears and train for a long time.

  1. Chak De India

The heights people go to make their films as real as possible. Teaching the nuances of hockey to the non-hockey players and acting to the non-acting girls. Sessions by Mr. Dhanraj Pillay himself to make the matches and the goals look believable, these are all part and parcel of the making. Even acting is a job and they have to work hard for impressing you people.

  1. Jab Tak Hai Jaan

Shooting is not at all a piece of cake and especially when on-location. Capturing the place is a tough job, given the varieties of terrains and climates they have to travel to. Ladakh, with bare amounts of oxygen showcases this difficulty aptly.

When a film runs on those multiplexes for those 3 hours, there is a lot that has gone into it. The whole process of filming may look spectacular for the viewers, but the cast and crew witness tons of emotions along. As a family away from their own, they create a world full of fun and frolic to hide the problems. These making of films are motion pictures themselves.
