After several years of rumours and speculations, Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs today released iPhone 2G in the United States. This comes after he announced the release on January 9, 2007 and said, “Today Apple is going to reinvent the phone.”
It is rumored to be an updated version of its iPod having touch controls and breakthrough features such as internet communication. Priced at $499 and $599 for the 4GB and 8GB versions respectively, the smartphone has a 3.5 inch LCD display of 3.5 inch, a microphone, headset controls, 2 megapixel camera, and a body of aluminum and plastic.

Soon after Apple’s first iPhone hit the markets, it changed it all. The previous clunky devices having half keyboard and half screen were then replaced by the modern features of the iPhone, which provided an experience like never before.
Since 2007, almost every year, Apple has released a new version of iPhone in the market with upgraded features, new connectivity. Interestingly, iPhone 2 or iPhone 3g was the one which introduced the world to the App Store.
It was in 2011 that with the announcement of iPhone 4, Apple also introduced Siri which enabled the users to get all the tasks done just through the voice. In 2014, Apple released its first plus size model- iPhone 6 Plus.
Later, when iPhone 7 and 7 Plus released, it became first in the series of iPhones to be splash, water, and dust resistant. Then came iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 in 2020, 2021, and 2022, respectively.
Every year, people eagerly await the arrival of Apple’s new iPhone and its renewed features. It came in 2007 and took the market by storm revolutionizing the technology in a way that was never considered possible.
