It seems Bollywood just cannot catch a break these days, or at least the mainstream and powerful actors and creators can’t.
The anger caused by Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death and various allegations of how nepotism and power play in Bollywood could have had a hand in it has led to a full-on fire now.
Even months after it happened, people on social media are constantly rallying against popular movies and celebrities, asking everyone to boycott their movies and other projects.
Earlier it was Jahnvi Kapoor’s Netflix movie ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ and then recently the trailer of Sadak 2 became one of the most disliked trailer on YouTube and is also the third most disliked video ever on YouTube with over 1 crore dislikes.
Now, news of Aamir Khan meeting the First Lady of Turkey, Emine Erdogan has caused quite an uproar with people taking big offence to it and also asking to boycott his upcoming film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
Aamir Khan Met Turkey’s First Lady
Aamir Khan is currently in Turkey to complete the shooting of his upcoming film, Laal Singh Chaddha.
The Bollywood actor is planning to shoot his film from there from October and recent videos and pictures were also released of him getting mobbed at the Turkey airport.
However, it was his visit to First Lady of Turkey, Emine Erdogan on 15th August that caught a lot of attention, especially given some of the recent events where Turkey leaders have taken reportedly anti-India stances.
The First Lady of Turkey had posted on her Twitter, “I had the great pleasure of meeting Aamir Khan, the world-renowned Indian actor, filmmaker, and director, in Istanbul. I was happy to learn that Aamir decided to wrap up the shooting of his latest movie Laal Singh Chaddha in different parts of Turkey. I look forward to it!”

Reports say that Aamir Khan had initiated the meeting himself and had not originally been invited by the Turkish government.
A Turkish Daily had reported that the actor himself had requested for a meeting and they discussed several social projects with which he is involved in India and even some led by his wife Kiran Rao.
This meeting though is not being taken well by Indian people because of the controversial remarks made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan had sided with Pakistan regarding the Kashmir issue and a Turkish foreign ministry spokesperson had also commented that abolishing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir had not done anything positive to the region.

Twitter Reaction To All This
Since morning, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ has been trending on Twitter and even the name Erdogan is trending at over 201k tweets.
Aamir Khan has also entered the top 10 trending list in India with over 20,000 tweets talking about him.
A lot of Twitter users are angry at Aamir Khan meeting the First Lady and are also actively asking everyone to boycott his film.
The strenuous relationships between Turkey and India and some stances supported by Turkey leaders have certainly put a very negative taint on Aamir Khan’s meeting.
