Change is eternal. As time goes by, everything keeps on changing. Remember the time when our grandparents would bring us a glass full of fresh and nutritious cow’s milk? But, as we developed, cow’s fresh milk changed into packaged milk full of adulteration.

Now that you are reading this, doesn’t it sound gross that the milk we drink is less nutritious and more adulterated? But, this Gurugram based dairy startup knocks all your problems down by providing you fresh and nutritious milk, right from the farm to your doorsteps!

From Farms To Doorsteps

It was in 2015 when Chakradhar Gade and Nitin Kaushal decided to initiate Country Delight, a dairy startup and provide its customers with fresh, natural and wholesome milk. They source milk from local cows and buffaloes to produce milk, ghee, butter, and paneer and take it to people’s doorsteps.

The company is providing its services in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai and Chennai. They have developed a network of more than 500 farmers residing 150 to 200 km away. The company caters to more than 1 million customers and delivers at least 3 million orders every month.

Talking with Inc42, Chakradhar Gade said, Technology plays a very big role in building quality traceability and supply chain at scale – all of this while staying very capital efficient. We want to give our customers the best quality products, at the lowest possible price and directly to their doorstep.”

Tracing The Baby Steps

When they started their journey, all they had was 50 cattle and they thought that in another two years, they would have around 500 cattle. However, little did they know that it would take them six years to reach that spot. It was hard work of six years that they were able to produce 5,000 litres of milk.

Nitin Kaushal told YourStory that they began as a “milk subscription brand”, and the idea was derived after watching milkmen who would deliver milk to the houses every day. Later, they decided to make it a farm-to-table business that would deliver fresh and natural milk to the doorsteps.

Products of Country Delight

Nitin told YourStory, When we say fresh product, it means the product should be delivered to the doorstep of the consumer within 24 to 36 hours, and the product should be rigorously tested and should adhere to all parameters as far as the local compliance standards are concerned.” And hence, to provide even more fresh, natural and unadulterated milk, a cold-chain enabled integrated pipeline was built.

Highlights Of The Company

In November 2020, the startup raised funding of $25 million from its investors- Elevation Capital, Matrix Partners, Orios Venture Partners and IIFL PE Fund. From just being a milk delivery startup initially, now it has started delivering other dairy products such as a variety of bread and eggs as well.

It plans to launch food essentials like fruits, vegetables, wheat, batters, pulses, etc. in the next few months using the funds they have raised.

Earlier, in February 2019, it raised $9.8 million from Orios Venture Partners. It is currently one of the fastest-growing dairy startups in India, which is providing unadulterated milk to customer’s doorsteps.
