He has ruled the big screen for decades and now Amitabh Bachchan is making his foray into small screen in a new TV serial called ‘Yudh’. For the look of the trailer, the show seems to be high on drama and has surged a lot of excitement about his role and about the star cast as a whole.
It shows Amitabh paired with Sarika yet again.
Yudh is the short form for Yudhistir. He is a real-estate and construction company head and owner. He faces the obvious business competitiveness as do all businesses, there is a complicated family situation which he has to deal with, politics naturally falls into this malaise, and he is dealing with a debilitating disease, a neuropsychological disorder, which could turn out to be terminal. He is now caught in a battle with himself and his health, an emotional battle with his family and a corporate battle with his rivals. How he shall deal with all these situations is what the serial is about.
With Anurag Kashyap and Shoojit Sircar as the creative directors, it stirs up the expectations of the viewers even more. Veteran actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kay Kay Menon are also a part of the show but what is even more intriguing is the fact that this is Amitabh’s debut fiction television show.
It is scheduled to premier on Sony Television on 14th July. Yudh is said to be the most expensive fiction show on Indian television. Each episode costed an estimated nearly 3 crores. The show boasts to take viewers on a ‘cinematic experience’.
Although the story has been kept under wraps, it is said that the show will portray a lesbian relationship between Mona Wasu’s and Rishina Kandhari’s characters.
Can’t wait to see Amitabh in this all new avatar! I am sure nobody can!
