Where Can Indians Travel To Safely During This War Situation?

-

Travelling in 2026 is surely becoming a very difficult thing to do. If you ask me what a list of safe places for Indians to go to would include, it would be: home, the storeroom, the kirana store, and that one spot at the very end of one’s colony, and that is it.

However, even that spot might have monkeys and stray dogs there, so apparently, that is also out of the safe places list for Indians in these times.

The war that started between the US, Israel, and Iran led to not just the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, but also the airspace over various points being shut down or heavily restricted.

The airspace over West Asia, especially Gulf nations, including the UAE, Bahrain, Doha, Qatar, Iran, Iraq, Israel and Kuwait, saw increased attacks being carried out, resulting in heightened security risks. This then led to many of these countries closing their airspace entirely.

As per reports, this led to airlines having to adjust routes, suspend services and reroute aircraft. According to reports, Air India and Indigo have also suspended all flights to West Asia and flights of almost every airline that is flying over those regions, even if the final destination is some other country, have been impacted.

Delays and cancellations of flights have seen a rapid increase in the past few months, with most airlines having to take longer or different routes to avoid these risky areas. This has also resulted in ticket prices shooting up by a huge margin.

In light of that, many travel experts are advising against planning any trips in the West for the time being, if one wants to avoid disruptions. Instead, the East is being suggested as a better option, since any flights for regions on that side would automatically avoid any active war zones.

So here are a few countries where Indians can travel to safely, given the current geopolitical situation.

Flights routed east over the Bay of Bengal and south across the Indian Ocean are almost entirely unaffected.

Destinations across Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the Indian Ocean, with direct connections from major Indian airports, are open, accessible, and removed from the conflict zone.

Experts are also encouraging people to constantly check travel advisories being released by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Indian Embassy of the country one is going to.
