Om Raut’s Adipurush was finally released, after numerous delays and disputes. While the film is causing a frenzy among fans, many people are dissatisfied with it. They are so outraged that they are asking for a boycott.

It has also been the subject of numerous debates. For example, on a visit to Tirupati’s Venkateswara Temple on June 7, Adipurush director Om Raut kissed lead actress Kriti Sanon on the cheek. This seemingly innocuous move infuriated several people.

So, let’s have a look at what all made fans agree about the movie.

The Way Hanuman Greets Sita

When Lord Hanuman goes to meet Sita at Ashok Vatika, where she was captured by Ravana, Hanuman greets her with folded hands. However, in the movie Hanuman greeted Sita by kneeling and keeping a fist on his chest. This has been condemned by the audience.

Ravana’s Hairstyle

Ravana, portrayed by Saif Ali Khan in the movie, has a hairstyle that wasn’t seen in any previous shows or movies. People have compared it to that of Virat Kohli’s hairstyle and have criticized the director for mocking a celebrity and a sports player through the movie.

Sexualised Lord Rama and Sita

The audience have come out criticizing the designer and director for sexualizing Rama and Sita. People are saying that Lord Rama has been given a Roman look, whereas Mata Sita has been portrayed as half naked.

Meghnad Cutting Sita’s Throat

There is a scene in the film where a man pretended to be Sita and when Ram was all happy to meet his wife, Indrajeet, Ravana’s son, had cut Sita’s throat to threaten Rama to show his power. Thus, people are questioning when did in Ramayana someone tried to cut Sita’s throat.

The Extravagant Budget

Fans are demanding a CBI inquiry into the film as considering the 700 crore rupees budget of the film, the visuals are not upto the mark and that has not gone down well with the audience.

Lord Hanuman’s Look and Dialogue

People are not impressed with Lord Hanuman’s look in the movie as they think that the look is similar to that of Muslim guys. There is also a controversy surrounding one of Hanuman’s dialogue which goes like, “Tel tere baap ka. Aag bhi tere baap ki. Toh jalegi bhi tere baap ki.” People are questioning which Ramayana did the writer read prior to writing the dialogues.

The Dialogues

The writer of the movie is also being criticized as the dialogues haven’t been appreciated by the audience. Many of them contain sexual and derogatory words which the people are not ready to accept.

Adipurush is inspired by Ramayana, a mythological epic. Prabhas plays Raghava, and Kriti Sanon plays Janaki. Sunny Singh plays Lakshmana, Devdatta Nage plays Bajrang, Vatsal Sheth plays Meghanadha, and Saif Ali Khan plays Ravana.
