In a time when everyone is doing their best to stay at home and limit their outside time, if only to bring down the COVID-19 cases in India, apparently it is too much for some people.
Cabin fever is understandable but at the same time, it is also a time to take things with the coronavirus pandemic very seriously.
The disease has still not been eradicated, and even in South Korea which a few days ago was reporting zero new cases has had another burst of cases cropping up.
Now, news of Poonam Pandey, a media personality being booked for taking a drive along Mumbai’s Marine Drive has caught a lot of eyes.
What Happened With Poonam Pandey?
As per reports, the Marine Drive Police had registered an FIR against Pandey and Sam Ahamad Bombay, 46, a film director who was with her at that time, for violating the lockdown rules.
The complaint was registered on Sunday around 8 pm after Pandey was found roaming around Marine Drive in her BMW car without any emergency or important reason.
PTI reported that senior police inspector Mrityunjay Hiremath said that, “A case has been registered against Ms. Pandey and Sam Ahmad Bombay (46) under sections 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of a disease dangerous to life) and 188 (Disobedience of order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under provisions of the National Disaster Act.”
She was eventually granted bail after being given a statutory warning.
