2014 BMW X4

BMW launched the X6 a few years back and surprisingly it turned out to be a huge success. So now they have launched their second sports activity vehicle, the X4. It’s based on an X3, except for a few changes like the dashboard and front end. Mechanically the X4 is very similar to the X3. Customers can choose either a 2.0-liter four cylinder turbocharged engine developing 240 hp or a 3.0-liter turbocharged straight six engine which develops 300 hp.

Jeep Renegade

The little Jeep Renegade made it’s global debut at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show. But here in New York people seem to be loving this mini-SUV! The Jeep Renegade is offered with two engine options. This includes a 1.4-liter MultiAir and a powerful 2.4-liter Tigershark 4-cylinder engine. It is offered as a front wheel drive or an all-wheel drive. Considering Jeep’s off-road abilities this might just make a serious off-roader. At the same time it is expected to be quite fuel-efficient.

Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept

This stunning concept portrays the design language that will be used for a family of new Discovery SUV models. The first member of the new family to go on sale will be the Discovery Sport which will act as a replacement for the Freelander. The SUV is loaded with ingenious technology and gear such as Laser terrain scanning, LED and laser lighting, Transparent Hood, Smart Glass, Gesture control door operation and Gesture control indicators and headlamps. The off-roading abilities are expected to be phenomenal since it uses cameras and a heads-up display to show the driver what is lies ahead and under the car, helping the driver to maneuver across tricky terrain. It will be available in five-seat and seven-seat configurations and is expected to go on sale by mid-2015.

2015 Nissan Murano

The new Murano looks quite similar to the concept showcased at Detroit over a year ago. The Murano SUV has always been edgier and better to drive than it’s rivals. It is known to have car-like ride and handling characteristics. Powering the Murano is the erstwhile 3.5-liter V6 engine which is mated to a CVT Automatic gearbox. The car is also striking to look at with the boomerang headlights and taillights, floating roof and NASA-inspired space seats on the inside.

2015 Subaru Outback

Subaru unveiled the fifth generation of its Outback utility wagon for 2015. Powering it is the same set of engines which include a 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder engine and a 3.6-liter flat six engine, both mated to a CVT Automatic transmission. Subaru are only going to offer it with the automatic transmission in order to obtain good fuel economy. The four-cylinder model is expected to return an average of 28 MPG while the six-cylinder will return around 22mpg.
