Netizens Feel Sick Seeing Bollywood’s Superstars’ Silence For Army During Operation Sindoor

-

Over the last few days, Bollywood has been called out for not speaking up against the Pahalgam attack or showing support for the Indian Armed Forces, especially in their retaliation against Pakistan.

Why Is Bollywood Silent?

Technically, Bollywood isn’t silent. Over these past few days, several Bollywood actors have come forward to show their support for the Indian Army and stand against the injustice of the Pahalgam attack and terrorists.

However, the silence of some of the biggest Bollywood actors, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and many more, has only raised the question of why this could be so.

Where stars like Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Kajol, Ritesh Deshmukh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Rajinikanth, Anushka Sharma, Saif Ali Khan, Aamir Khan, and many more have spoken out in support of the army and Operation Sindoor, the retaliation attack by India against terrorism, the silence of some of the pillars of the industry has been glaring.

Salman Khan recently received backlash after he tweeted about the ceasefire. On May 11, 2025, soon after US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Salman tweeted, “Thank God for the ceasefire.”

This was met with criticism from several netizens who didn’t appreciate Khan’s post about the ceasefire while remaining silent about the Indian army’s retaliation against the Pahalgam attack, known as Operation Sindoor.

Many called him out for ignoring the efforts of the Indian soldiers and being insensitive to their sacrifices, only speaking up when a truce was declared. Khan ended up deleting the tweet soon after, but has not clarified thus far.

Apart from that, netizens have also called out the silence of others. Some claimed that while they might be silent now, many of these celebrities benefit from the profits of patriotic films that Bollywood makes, playing on the sentiments of the citizens.

On Sunday, Amitabh Bachchan posted a lengthy message about the attack and Operation Sindoor on his X/Twitter page. This followed nearly 20 days during which he shared blank posts. He also shared a poem by his late father, the legendary scholar and poet, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, praising the Indian Armed Forces.

He wrote, “While celebrating the holidays, that demon dragged an innocent husband and wife outside. He stripped the husband naked, and after fulfilling his so-called religious duty, when he started shooting him, the wife, falling to her knees and crying, pleaded again and again, “Don’t kill my husband.” But that cowardly demon, with extreme cruelty, shot her husband – making her a widow. When the wife cried out, “Kill me too!” the demon said, “No! Go and tell ‘….’!” At that moment, thinking of the daughter’s state of mind, a line from revered Babuji’s poem came to mind: It was as if the daughter went to ‘.’ and said: “I carry the ashes of the funeral pyre in my hands, yet the world asks me for sindoor — (A line by Babuji) And ‘.’ gave her the sindoor!!! OPERATION SINDOOR!!! Jai Hind Jai Hind to the Indian Army You shall never stop; you shall never turn back; you shall never bow down. Take the oath, take the oath, take the oath! Path of Fire! Path of Fire! Path of Fire!!! (sic).”

However, this followed his questioning about his silence during these days, while others expressed their support.
