Six-year-old identical twin sisters Zaiba and Zainab have taken the internet by storm with their cute vlog on last week’s snowfall in Kashmir.
What Is So Special In This Year’s Snowfall In Kashmir?
Owing to climate change, Jammu and Kashmir experienced a prolonged dry spell amid harsh winter with barely any precipitation since December, 2023. Large number of devotees offered ‘Salatul Istisqa’ prayers at the Jamia Masjid, in Srinagar, on January 12, 2024, seeking an end to dry weather conditions in Kashmir valley which was ruining the local economy.
These prayers were heard and Kashmir finally started receiving snowfall from January 29, this year, much to the relief of the locals
Why Has This Video Gone Viral?
This 73-second video, recorded in the Anantnag family home of the twins, Zaiba and Zainab, was shared by the Chairman of Mahindra and Mahindra, Anand Mahindra on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday, February 4 has garnered 4,42,000 views so far, catapulting the sisters to national fame.

The twins, who are always identically dressed, were standing in the middle of a snow-filled street in Kashmir and ‘reporting’ about the weather. They also have a YouTube channel of their own which has over 2,000 subscribers and have posted 38 videos on it.
“Toh hum yaha par bahot zyada enjoy kar rahe hai, masti kar rahe hain. Yaha charo taraf kitni saari baraf hai” (We are enjoying it a lot over here. There is so much snow around us), they can be heard saying.
“You must be feeling how much I am enjoying. I feel like I am in paradise and this (snow) is a wave of milk,” said Zainab while Zaiba exclaimed, “Finally, it has snowed (in Kashmir),” referring to the prolonged dry spell in the valley.
How Have The Twins Won National Hearts?
NDTV interviewed this adorable pair, where they told the audience that their mother had filmed this video. They also gave ‘dawat’ (invitation) to PM Modi, saying that they’d like to show him the valleys of “Jannat-e-Kashmir”, play with him and take his autograph.
Comments full of love have been showered on all platforms where this video has been uploaded. “The real beauty of Kashmir. Felt at peace while watching this,” commented a netizen with the Instagram handle, @eureka.filmmaker.
“They only weather report I trust,” commented another netizen. “Purity without any mix of hatred,” said another.
“Oh My God. What a cute video. Enjoyed watching it. Worth sharing,” wrote another individual.
