Insights into the Journey of Rahul Luthra

-

A true admirer of antique lore and conventional art, Rahul Luthra is a rising star in the authentic jewellery business. Precious jewellery pieces designed by Rahul are attractive and one-of-a-kind, garnering him recognition from high-end celebrities and artists all over the world. As a child he was fascinated by the glint of gemstones, spending hours gazing at them and comprehending their design and charisma. His earliest memory with jewellery is redoing vintage heirloom pieces to make them more wearable for his mother. Nature, in its unique forms, has strongly inspired his marvellous designs and exceptional adornments.

It was to no one’s surprise that Rahul opted to pursue his career in jewellery designing, thereafter dedicating his whole life to carving gemstones and creating adornments out of them. Along with his graduation, Rahul enrolled in the prestigious Gemmology Institute of America and also pursued a course in Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery.

The designer launched his own bridal label in 2012, curated as ‘Ra Abta: Rich and Royal adornments’, featuring IGI/GIA solitaires, moissanite, hallmarked diamond & gold jewellery, and certified precious and semi-precious gemstones. Each of these pieces are crafted from handpicked gems of the finest quality, essentially keeping the variance of artistic spirit alive. Although the brand is currently retailing in India and UK, they have clients spanning across the globe as well.

Luthra has designed and forged a Retail Range for Louvre in Paris. The designer made it to the finals in the Swarovski Design Awards in 2010 and the Singapore Jewellery Design Awards, 2011. Furthermore, he has presented his designs in the Jewellery Association Show in 2010 and 2011 and the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, where he designed an exclusive ethnic line of Jewellery along with the esteemed designer Joy Mitra. Famous Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone wore his exclusive design ‘Kaleera’ from the house of ‘Ra Abta’ at her wedding. Several other B-town celebs including Kareena Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Kiara Advani are often seen adorning his brilliant designs. Over the years, the designer has gained momentous appreciation from prominent stylists and celebs. With servile hard work, he continues to climb the ladder of top jewellery designers in the country
