‘Exercise In Narcissism,’ Trolls Hit Out At Meghan Markle’s New Netflix Show

-

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix show, ‘With Love, Meghan, ‘ has just been released. However, the early reactions have been accurate, and the show is not receiving the acclaim it was anticipating. Or is it?

According to reports, Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” is being review-bombed with one-star reviews and trolling comments online.

What Is Going On With Meghan Markle’s Netflix Show?

The lifestyle show where Markle is shown to be promoting her cooking, gardening, and styling skills creatively, sharing her life and favourite items, was already being mocked when its trailer dropped.

However, the show’s official release is bringing back those comments, with some calling it “uninspired” or saying it’s not relatable, and more.

A user on X/Twitter posted, “This is literally the most basic, uninspired content I’ve ever seen. My local grocery store makes better fruit rainbows. It’s not creative, it’s not original, it’s boring, and even worse is her insufferable banter. This show is going to s**k.”

Another person ranted about Meghan, saying that her surname is Sussex: “It’s not your LAST NAME, #MeghanMarkle. It’s a royal title that belongs to the British monarchy. Watch the actual moment when she tells @mindykaling, ‘you know my last name is Sussex, and she replies, ‘I know now. So clearly, she didn’t know. She reduces a royal title to ‘her’ last name. Can’t wait for @KensingtonRoyal King William to remove the ‘last name.’ This is so f**king cringe, @netflix.”

There was a whole separate bashing on this matter, where several people took offence to Meghan claiming in the second episode of the series that her last name is not Markle now, but Sussex.

American actress and comedian Mindy Kaling, who appears in the episode, says, “I don’t think anyone in the world knows that Meghan Markle has eaten Jack In The Box and loves it.” Meghan replies, “It’s so funny that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know, I’m Sussex now.

But many royal fans are stating that she is wrong as Sussex is a title and not a last name.

Other comments that her show received included, “Meghan Markle’s cooking show is a disaster,” and “Trying to watch Meghan Markle’s show on Netflix makes me feel insane sitting here watching her make a cake in the same way you’d make it from a box.”

An IMDb reviewer wrote, “The Duchess of Sussex’s new Netflix series is an exercise in narcissism, filled with extravagant brunches, celebrity pals, and business plugs.”

While an X/Twitter user remarked, “Meghan Markle’s new show is a dystopian fever dream that underscores the class divide in our society. It’s also just downright boring.”

Another user stated, “I’ve watched the first episode of ‘With Love, Meghan’ and I have never been so uninspired in my life. I had grand plans to hate-watch the whole series, but I don’t think I hate myself enough to follow through. My God, it’s bad.”

Some users also commented on how Meghan’s show seems like a copy of Pamela Anderson’s show called ‘Pamela’s Cooking With Love.’

One user wrote, “I’m so glad Meghan Markle has a new show on Netflix where I can watch her take pretzels out of a labelled bag and put them into a new bag… then label it. The people’s Martha Stewart!”

There is a theory, however, that the show is being purposefully review-bombed, especially by fans of the royal family and the British media, who still hold a grudge against Prince Harry and Meghan for stepping away from the royal family.
