Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter has been one of the most talked about topic in the past few days. While there had been speculations running rampant about him taking on a stronger role in the social media platform’s management, the acquisition still got a lot of people talking.

On Monday it came out that the SpaceX and Tesla CEO had made an offer to buy out all the majority stakeholders of Twitter and acquire it for a whopping $44 billion. When this broke, many people started to bring up a tweet of his from 2017 where Musk had casually inquired about how much Twitter’s price was in a Twitter conversation thread.

Right now reports claim that the deal with be finalised sometime around the end of this year and in the meantime according to an agreement Musk cannot post anything that is insulting or demeaning toward Twitter.

This is probably why Musk, seeing all the hype around his name and the Twitter deal right made another comment around the soft drink brand Coca-Cola.

On 28th April 2022, Elon Musk tweeted that “Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in.”

He further shared a screenshot of his own tweet from sometime back where he wrote that he was “going to buy McDonald’s and fix all the ice cream machines” and added that “Listen, I can’t do miracles ok”.

Musk’s tweet seems to be referring to how the original recipe for Coca-Cola had included such drugs like cocaine and more. Launched in 1886 Coca-Cola had initially been as a medicinal tonic but eventually, it was changed to suit a more mass consumption and into a soft beverage.

The reactions to this were certainly interesting.

Currently, there are even certain opinion pieces coming out theorising that Musk might actually not be able to even buy Twitter in the first place and have to back out of the deal.
