If you were born between the years 1981 and 1996, you belong to the Millennials, or Generation Y cohort, whereas the Generation Z age range lies between 1996 and 2012. As a result of this age gap, the two generations are very different from one another.
They share different ideologies, perspectives, and beliefs. But can we decide who is better than whom?
Members of Gen Z have a more open-minded and objective outlook on life. Ideas such as fighting to legalize same-sex marriage or electing a black president were just random thoughts in the minds of the previous generation. But Gen Zers view these milestones as par for the course. They are nonconformists, being more vocal about their opinions and rights.
Millennials, on the other hand, are more rational and experienced. As a result of being born at a time when social media and computer technologies were not so rampant, Millennials happen to be more focused on their personal and professional lives.
The contrast in the fashion sense of the two generations is another factor we cannot afford to overlook. Gen Zs seem to have a plump for throwback attire and retro apparel; they tend to pay tribute to the fashion trends that were popular during the time of Millennials. Gen Zs prefer more sustainable and environment-friendly clothes than Millennials.
However, Millennials choose more comfortable clothes for themselves. Millennials are fond of brands that clearly express what their motifs and purposes are and what they stand for.
It is safe to say that both generations are unique and superior in their own way, and they often appear to be more similar than different. However, a few of our friends here have shared who they think is a better generation between Millennials and Gen Z.
