Throughout history, art has been a powerful tool of different voices for the society. The famous example is Banksy who is known for his humorous art about today’s society. Besides Banksy, we have another world-renowned contemporary artist wants to express her feeling toward this situation. The contemporary artist, created this mind-blowing piece of art to grieve the pain of the death of George Floyd and the racial inequality that is still going on in this 21st century. Yee Wong, a talented artist created an artwork that goes by the name “Peace! George!” to express peace and love that we need while we are in the middle of a big racial crisis.
The artwork honors George Floyd and promotes peace and love which is what we need to stop this racial crisis under all circumstances. No doubt, what happened is heartbreaking and has left many in a state of shock and fear. The unfortunate event has forced the world to educate themselves about the racial crisis. Although we have so many articles, books, and researches to increase our knowledge, art still remains one of the most powerful tools to send across a message.

As one of the famous Martin Luther King, Jr.‘s quotes says “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
Hate and violence can only worsen the situation and hurt more innocent people. We need to transform this destructive energy into something positive that can actually improve the racism situation in future. That is the love we need now. Don’t hurt each other anymore because of our differences. Let’s work together peacefully and build something better together for our future and the future for our generations to come.
