The divorce between Hollywood A-list celebrities Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt was and still remains a much talked-about topic, almost as much as their early dating time, children and then marriage was. Jolie and Pitt were together for 12 years from 2006 till 2019, with Jolie filing for divorce in 2016 due to irreconcilable differences.
Apparently, as per the rumour mills, some of the reasons given for their separation was Pitt’s alcoholism and being abusive toward Jolie and his children. In September 2016 just sometime before Jolie filed for divorce, Pitt was accused by an anonymous person of being “verbally abusive” and “physical” with one of his kids which led to an investigation by the FBI and the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services.
Pitt was eventually cleared by both the FBI and the LADCFS of the accusations and said that he did not abuse his kids.
However, now in a countersuit by Jolie, shocking claims have been made against Brad Pitt that he attacked and abused his ex-wife and children during a plane ride on 14 September 2016.
What Has Angelina Jolie Said?
Apparently Brad Pitt’s legal team sued Angelina Jolie in February over her selling her stake in the winery to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of Stoli Group. The lawsuit claimed that he and Jolie had agreed that neither could sell their stake in the property without getting proper permission from the other.
To this Jolie dismissed any such agreement and that the reason she sold her half in the property was to get “financial independence” from Pitt and also to “have some form of peace and closure to this deeply painful and traumatic chapter of her and their children’s lives.”
She then goes on to reveal the reason why she separated from Pitt was due to what happened on the plane ride on 14th September 2016, and that she filed for divorce a mere five days after it happened.
According to a CNN report, the countersuit had a section called “Why Jolie separated from Pitt,” and in it was given how Pitt had gotten into an argument with one of their six kids right before they got to the airport.
As per the filing, Pitt verbally attacked Jolie when she asked “what was wrong?” on the plane and then after an hour and half he “pulled” her into a bathroom where he grabbed her head, shook her and pushed her into the wall.
He then further “punched the ceiling of the plane numerous times, prompting Jolie to leave the bathroom.” And when one of the children tried to come and pacify the situation he “lunged at his own child”.

The filing also stated that Jolie “grabbed him from behind to stop him” and that “To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backward into the airplane’s seats injuring Jolie’s back and elbow.” Seeing this the kids tried to intervene and protect each other.
Brad Pitt’s team has already refuted the claims and said they are not true. A representative for the actor gave a statement to CNN that “(Jolie’s) story continues to evolve each time she tells it with new, unsubstantiated claims. Brad has accepted responsibility for what he did but will not for things he didn’t do. These new allegations are completely untrue.”
