The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the results for the current class 12th students. And in a surprising turn of events, the day is not filled with anxiety, tears, fear of our parents and useless comments from relatives.

Instead, it is a joyous occasion for many, with a record high pass percentage of 99.37% of students clearing the 12th class exams. Out of the 13,04,561 registered students for the 2021 exam, almost 12,96,318 have passed the senior secondary exam.

This is a leap from last year’s 88.8% pass percentage. Girl students have also overtaken the boys by 0.54% in this where the pass percentage of girls stands at 99.67% while boys are at 99.13%.

Not just that, but a whopping 70,000 students have reportedly scored over 95% marks in their 12th class exams and over 1.5 lakh students have scored in the 90% range.

The students were evaluated on an alternative marking scheme after the CBSE board exams were cancelled by the government in June due to the intense second wave of the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the country.

Instead of a physical exam being taken by students, they were assessed on their marks from Class 10th, 11th and 12th. The evaluation took 30% of Class 10th’s board exams best of 3 results, 30% of Class 11th final exam results and 40% of Class 12th’s results from unit test/mid-term/Pre-board.

Students can check their CBSE Class 12 result at cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.gov.in.

Twitter Memes Abound

The fact that such a large number of students got such high marks in their 12th class results really lifted a huge rock off of the students.

Thousands and lakhs of them took to Twitter and other social media to talk about their marks or just commenting on the results that Class 12th students got overall.

Many were losing their marbles over the fact that so many got such high percentages, something that was almost an unachievable dream for some.

After all the stress of exams and the fluctuation between online and offline mode of exams, this is certainly some good news for the students.
