Youth4Swaraj is an organisation that strives for a Just India – the concept of New India should not be just limited to sloganeering, but the true embodiment of India’s pride will be in the 21st century where the youth reclaims its rich heritage and also addresses its aspirations. But how do we achieve this when unemployment, dismal quality yet expensive education stares at us?

The need to reignite the thoughts & spirit of Vivekanand has never been greater before when most of our cultural icons have been limited to mere floral tributes and idolatry. According to the team of Youth4Swaraj, now is the time to go back to what Vivekanand stood for and prophesied.

At a time when hate & violence in the name of caste, creed, race & religion is at its peak, at a time when the notion of nationalism is being distorted, at a time when the very idea of India is under threat from various quarters, Swami Vivekanand and his thoughts have become much more relevant today than it ever was.

Vivekananda was a flag-bearer of humanity, a professor of tolerance & brotherhood, a man of magnetic personality & a spokesperson of Indian spiritualism & nationalism.

Youth4Swaraj with the Vivekanand Youth Summit 2018 wants to reignite the spirit of his teachings and not limit a global saint to just floral tributes and idol worship.

Date: 12th Jan 2018

Time: 11:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Venue: Satyakama Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences, Near Daulat Ram College, Delhi University.

The summit is an unusual one as the team seeks to understand the dreams of Swami Vivekanand in today’s India.

The two topics that will be dealt at the Summit are:

– What was Vivekananda’s idea of India and Nationalism?

– Who is the Ideal Youth as idealized by Vivekananda?

Prof. Yogendra Yadav will address the summit on National Youth Day.

There is even a Vivekananda Youth Contest where you need to answer a simple question.

Question: ‘What is Vivekananda’s idea of India’s Greatness?’ | स्वामी विवेकानंद का भारतीय राष्ट्रवाद क्या है?

Mail your answers to youth4swaraj@gmail.com (Minimum 75 and Maximum 2000 words)

Best answers will be declared on Jan 12, 2018 (11:00 am).

Top 5 answers will be awarded at the ‘Vivekanand Youth Summit’ – 2018.

Top 50 winners will be awarded certificates by Yogendra Yadav.

On January 12, the National Youth Day, the ‘Vivekanand Youth Summit 2018’ is being organised to discuss the way ahead in realising the dreams of Swami Vivekanand in today’s India.
