When the entire world is getting out their cars to ask Kiki if she loves them, a man in Pune went extra by putting up 300 banners as an apology to his girlfriend.

Nilesh Khedekar, a 25-year-old local businessman, came with the idea of putting 300 posters around the Pimpri Saudagar area in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, to make up with his girlfriend after a fight.

On Friday morning, residents of the Pimpri Saudagar were greeted by huge posters saying “Shivde (nickname of the girl), I am sorry” in bold print with a red heart symbol beside it.

It is still not known what Nilesh Khedekar did to get on the wrong side of his girlfriend but it must be something pretty big as this act of apology came with a bill of around Rs 72,000 approximately and that is excluding the fines.

This cinematic act of modern love has however landed Nilesh Khedekar in trouble with the Wakad police who approached the civic body to initiate actions as per rules and a complaint about illegal hoardings and defacement of public property was filed against the culprit.

A police official said that investigations into the matter started soon after they were alerted about the hoardings on Friday.

“We managed to zero in on his friend Vilas Shinde who had helped Khedekar get the flex hoardings printed. Through him, we traced Khedekar who is the brain behind this act.”

“The girl was coming on Friday to the area from Mumbai. Under the cover of darkness in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, over 300 hoardings were put up on the route which the girl was likely to take,” the official said.

The civic body had been told about the issue, the official said, adding that it was up to the civic body now to initiate further action against the businessman which will most likely be a certain amount of fine.

What do you think? Was it a really romantic move? Or was it short-sighted and dumb as now the whole country knows Nilesh had a fight with Shivde?
