Just barely a week or so after the tragic loss of Lata Mangeshkar, India has lost another great with news of the passing away of Bappi Lahiri coming in. Lahiri passed away at the age of 69 in Mumbai due to obstructive sleep apnea.

Lahiri had been experiencing health problems had been admitted to the hospital for almost a month having just recently returned home.

Lahiri was the king of disco and pop for Indians, ruling the Indian musical scene during the 70s and 80s with practically song after song topping the charts in the country. That along with his iconic appearance made millions across not just India but around the world his die-hard fans.

However, as tragic as his loss is to the country, India it seems has lost many more gems than it knew about. Here we take a look at some of the classical legends that we lost over the past year.
