Hyderabad Is Famous For Its Pearl Market And Not Just Biryani!

If you desire to see the best pearls, we have a place for you! Well that is the city of ‘Nawabs’, Hyderabad.

Hyderabad is well furnished with pearls of all kinds ranging from the local street vendors to the lavish malls and showrooms!

Whether you’re looking for the real ones of cultured ones, small or big, this city is the one-stop destination for you.

Hyderabad is the largest producer and distributor of natural pearls!

Want to buy pearls? Well here is something you must know!

All the pearls aren’t of same composition and value. There might be pearls which may range to thousands of rupees while some range to hundreds!

What actually makes the difference? The answer to this question is the origin of pearl! Natural pearls have higher value than the synthetic ones. Here are few types of pearls that you will come across in the Pearl Market:

Real / Natural Pearls

These are the genuine salt-water pearls that originate naturally. These aren’t sent for enhancement like polishing, cutting and wax coating and they are used in their raw form in jewellery. With such importance and value, a high price is justified.

Cultured Pearls

These are the imitations of real pearls and go through various beautifying processes to look real. Then, the pearls are divided according to shine, size, glaze and uniformity. These kinds of pearls are easily available in most jeweller stores and are widely used as ornaments.

Duplicate Pearls

These are the most common pearls with cheap rates. But be careful! Don’t be fooled by their shine and grace. These are the ones the vendors on street sell. Quality is really low and the shine vanishes within weeks.

Different kinds of jewellery are made from pearls such as necklaces, bracelets, bangles, enameled sets and waist bands.

Typical Hyderabadi jewellery sets that use pearls are the ‘Satlads’, which are made out of seven strands of pearls and precious stones, Kundan sets, lacchas, rassi, chokers, chatai sets and Tanmani. These are available in all big jewellery houses across the city.

Prices and the Quality

Immense variety, affordable prices and superior quality are some of the attributes that make Hyderabad a true pearl paradise. One can get pearls ranging from Rs 10 per gram to Rs 2,000 per gram.

Quality of pearls is authentic in shops up to the global requirements and the price range is also under the affordable segment.  One can buy the pearls in the range of 500-50,000/- according to their purity, size, charm and authenticity.

But don’t forget that bargaining is your tools! It might benefit you up to some bucks.

Want more monetary benefits?

Do try to visit the whole sale markets in Hyderabad that may offer you some additional monetary advantages. Some wholesale markets that are famous in Hyderabad are Begum Bazar, Madina market, Ranigunj, Laad Bazar and Sultan Bazar.
