Here’s Some Advice I Would Give To A 17-year-old Me (12th Board’s Time)

It’s that time of the year and you will need this more than ever.

Guess the title says it all: Some Advice I Would Give To A 17-year-old Me (12th Board’s Time)

So here goes…

Kangana Ranaut- Karan Johar Koffee With Karan

1. Don’t be too hard on yourself. That’s half the complication.

2. Travel solo before you go to college, and do it on a budget.

3. The bubble is about to burst, so be prepared to face failures and fears.

4. No one will care as much as your family has so far, so lower your expectations.

5. Learn to do your own laundry. And maybe clean the toilet.

6. It doesn’t matter what you look like. College is going to transform you anyway. Probably for the better. Just remember, the single wardrobe essential is Confidence.

7. Leave the past behind. Turn to a new page, and take it as an opportunity to be whoever you want.

When I look back today, I see how far I’ve come from being the insecure, naïve little girl from the small town to being the independent and (kinda sorta) fearless woman who doesn’t hesitate to exercise her rights.

I do have regrets about my past, but I cherish the mistakes too, because every lesson was a step towards who I am, and proud to be.

So to every little girl giving her boards this season and preparing for a new life, I wish to pass on the message: Welcome to the real world, it sucks. You’ll love it!
