May 6: Radio talk show hosts, podcast hosts, and music show hosts are referred to as radio jockeys or RJs. Radio broadcasters must be able to attract their viewers’ interest both verbally and aesthetically. Meet Paresh Chaudhary a.k.a RJ VEER, who is not only the popular voice of Surat on Radio City 91.1FM but has also gone an extra mile in his support for the ‘Swachh Surat’ initiative under the Swachh Bharat Mission of the Government of India.
As a brand ambassador for the Swachh Surat initiative of the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), RJ VEER was instrumental in installing over 3,000 “WET” & “DRY dustbins across the city. With the support of the cleanliness crusaders and NGOs, RJ Veer started a campaign to clean the Dumas beach—the most popular destination for the fun-loving people of Surat on the weekends—and other places of interest in the city of Diamonds (Surat).
His popular voice in the form of an audio bite can still be heard in the Swachhta Vans of the SMC for public announcement during the Swachh Survekshan surveys by the SMC teams. Notably, RJ VEER’s audio bite is being run by Surat police 24×7 at the Central Bus Station and Surat Railway station to spread awareness among the people to remain alert from thieves and pickpocketers.
He also joined hands with the government employees for hosting Swachhta Awareness games in over 50 gardens and 100 schools across the city.
RJ VEER started his career with hosting and anchoring in February-2008. It was in June-2015 that he started his career as Radio Jockey and his first show ‘Total Time Pass’ was a big hit. At present, RJ VEER is a Primetime RJ at Radio City 91.1 FM.
Also known as Emcee (Master in Ceremonies), RJ VEER has hosted and anchored thousands of ceremonies including birthdays, weddings, social events, stage shows, etc. for the last 14 years. He has shared the stage with more than 100 Bollywood celebrities including Tiger Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anuradha Paudwal, Suneil Shetty, Akshay Kumar, and Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chamas team, etc.
RJ VEER got a big break during the Lok Sabha Elections in 2019. He was made the Brand Ambassador for the Lok Sabha Elections in Gujarat State. Also, RJ VEER has hosted more than 5 Guinness Book of World Record events and over 300 social events in Gujarat. The five local brands have appointed RJ VEER as their brand ambassador for the Gujarat market.
Not only this, RJ VEER has delivered lectures as a guest celebrity speaker at over 150 colleges and universities in Surat in particular and Gujarat in general and working as visiting faculty for colleges to train students in public speaking, hosting, anchoring, etc.
Not limiting his role to social activities, RJ VEER founded ‘Vakta’ (Speaker) on April 22, 2018, which is public speaking, hosting, and Radio Jockey institute. He has conducted scores of seminars under Vakta.
With the view to promoting the talent and skills of the artists, RJ VEER established the ‘Kalakar Club’ on September 9, 2018. It is an open platform for all the artists from Surat where they can promote their talent through his social media platform having lakhs of followers. The Kalakar Club conducts live shows on RJ VEER’s FB page.
