The match between India and Sri Lanka on 2nd November was certainly one to remember for a long time since India won by a margin of a whopping 302 runs.

The match was watched by millions and was certainly anticipated, also due to Sri Lanka having a pretty established name in the world of cricket.

However, it seems no one could have really predicted how the match would go and the India pacers certainly shined a lot in it.

The eventual resulting win and exactly how quickly it came about, kickstarted a meme frenzy online with people using this as good fodder for hilarious posts.

What Happened In The Match?

On Thursday, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 group-stage face-off occurred at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai with the match happening between India and Sri Lanka.

India went on to bat first and went to make 357/8 with Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer being the star players from the batsmen side.

It was the Indian bowlers who really took the game with Mohammed Shami coming up at the top with his five-wicket haul in just five overs, along with Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah being close in their excellent performance that restricted Sri Lanka to go all out at 55 runs in 19.4 overs making India win by a streak of 302 runs.

But it was after the match that the netizens started a memefest mostly poking fun at the results that came about.
