4 Anime Shows That I Am Loving Right Now

-

Anime has only been a part, in the sense that I actually know what anime is in the first place, for only a couple of years.

Of course I have watched my fair share of Shin Chan, Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Doraemon and Cardcaptor Sakura throughout my childhood.

However I wasn’t really aware of the fact that it was anime anime that I was watching and not just cartoons.

Okay, I get this might be confusing, but to me at that point, Pokemon was the same as a Disney cartoon. I didn’t know that there was this altogether another type of animation hailing from the Asian side, typically Japan, which was quite different from the Western animation.

It has only been since the last couple of years, that I have started to become interested in this kind of animation with Sailor Moon, Fullmetal Alchemist and such, based on the recommendations of friends.

However, for the uninitiated who are looking for good and quality anime shows or even if you are an anime fan then this list of anime shows I am loving right now, might prove to be useful to you:

1. Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion:

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion or simply just Code Geass was the first anime that I came across on my own without the recommendation or help from anyone else. It was actually an abridged video of one of Code Geass’s episode that raised my interest in the show.

anime

I have to say that this show has definitely set some very high standards, be it in the quality of the animation, the action, the characters or the plot.

It seemed as if everything in the 2 seasons this show ran, was perfectly executed, nothing was left out of loop and it was all just really good.

It is also really good for me to hear that Code Geass might be making a come back with a 3rd season. I cannot wait for what it brings next.

2. Yuri On Ice:

Some say that this show single handedly saved the year 2016 and was the only worthwhile thing to come out of an otherwise shitty year.

And I couldn’t agree more.

I thank every star in the sky for helping me find my way to this amazeballs show and all its perfection.

If I seem like a fangirl about this show, it is because I am.

I might not be a fan of sports, but I really love well made sports films or TV show that handle it really well.

And even if you set aside everything of this show, you cannot argue with the fact that Yuri On Ice absolutely nails it when it comes to showing Ice Skating as a sport in all it’s glory.

Apart from that, just look at this trailer, imagine how much time and effort it must have taken the artists to create such fast and flowy movements.

We think the normal anime is difficult, think about how hard it must be to animate such intricate and detailed ice skating performances.

Apart from the respect given to the sport, you have to hand it to the creators for showing such nuanced, well formed and great characters in just a mere 12 episodes.

If this show doesn’t get a Season 2 then I’mma be mighty pissed.

3. One Punch Man:

anime

One Punch Man was the anime that was highly recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad that I listened to them.

This show is so freaking great.

If you watch it for nothing else then watch it for Saitama and Genos and just brilliant characterisation, action, storyline and of course the extremely good quality animation.

Of course to, a person who can barely make the standard mountain, sun and house drawing, each of these anime shows seems brilliant in terms of it’s quality.

But more than that, the comic timing while still dealing with issues like ostracisation, insecurity, being different from rest and more is something that this show does quite well.

4. Nichijou – My Ordinary Life

anime

This is an anime that I have just recently started to watch along with Daily Lives of Highschool Boys and both while being very normal and centred on daily lives of people and funny situations they find themselves in, are quite good anime shows.

Unlike the shows above most of which are very intense or heavy, both these shows are quite light-hearted and just fine for when I don’t want to think about anything and just have a nice laugh.
