This Is The Manager Who Could Replace Zidane As The Coach Of Real Madrid

-

To everyone’ surprise, Zidane has stepped down as the Real Madrid manager.

Probably, this is the first time that the Real Madrid President, Florentino Pérez has not sacked a manager but rather wanted him to stay.

Pérez was quoted as saying, “I wanted him as a player and a manager and I wanted him to be next to me forever, but I also know that, when he takes a decision, it’s a final decision.”

“It was a huge impact for me yesterday when I heard this decision. I would have liked to convince him to stay on but I know what he’s like. All I can offer is my love and respect and remind him that this is his home.” (Source- Sky Sports)

Interesting times lie ahead as the biggest job of being the Manager of Real Madrid is up for grabs:

Florentino Pérez

1. Mauricio Pochettino

He has time and again being touted as the favorite to land the Madrid job due to his attacking form of coaching and his experience at La Liga and stint at Spurs has further enhanced his reputation.

Yes, he hasn’t won any trophies at Spurs but there isn’t an iota of doubt that he is one of the best managers in the world and it seems to me that it may just be the perfect marriage. Also, he hates Barcelona.

2. Antonio Conte

He is a serial winner and in all probability, is set to leave Chelsea this season. If we look at his record, he is a manager who is tailor-made to win the domestic league. It is well known that Madrid has had a poor record in the past 10 years when it comes to winning La Liga. Winning the PL at a time when the league had Klopp, Wenger, Mourinho, and Guardiola is no mean feat and speaks volumes about his strengths.

Again, as opposed to Pochettino, he is considered anti-football due to his conservative playing style. Madrid had one of the best playing styles in the world under Zidane which could rival the likes of Barca and Man City. This is a huge question mark when it comes to appointing Conte.

3. Arsene Wenger

It is exciting because you will be tested again, that’s what I want again in my life basically I am a competitor who needs to be tested.”

I don’t know exactly what will happen now, but I am in front of an empty page and I will have to write the next chapter.” ( Source- Sky Sports)

This would send shockwaves around the footballing circuit. There is no denying that Arsene is a legend but it would be really interesting to see how the RM supporters welcome him at the club.

Wenger has rejected Madrid about 3 times earlier during his reign at Arsenal and it is an open secret that Perez rates him highly.

Will this be ‘the appointment’ of the summer?

4. Jurgen Klopp

Highly improbable. Klopp is highly respected around the globe and had previously been linked to the top job as well.

Klopp is the finest manager when it comes to the style of play and his heavy metal football is something which is endearing even to the opposing fans.  Klopp feels at home at Liverpool and has committed his future to the club. It would be shocking and yet exciting if we see any development regarding his appointment.

5. Jose Mourinho

Tactically, he is the best manager in the world and is still the ’Special one’. When at the helm of Madrid, he dislodged the greatest team in the world from the pinnacle and is still admired by the supporters for the phenomenal feat.

Many still consider the current Madrid team which has scripted its name in history to be a product of Mourinho. But Mourinho is happy at United and is on a project. He is loved by all the Red Devils and there should be no reason for him to change countries at this point in time.

With the Real Madrid job up in the air, one never knows. They are the biggest club in the world and it would take a lot of guts for any coach to say no to them. The next few weeks are going to be exciting which could lead to a trickle-down effect in the world of football.
