Raise Your Voice is back with its 2nd edition of poetry and discussions, with a special emphasis on women. A gender that has been ignored and made a victim of patriarchy is now thriving and the world knows this. But there remain some disturbing and unsaid things that heavily impact women’s lives, not just in India but throughout the world.

This edition of Raise Your Voice aims to celebrate Women. From facing backlashes and ignorance, to fighting all odds and making their dreams come true. Women have been brave and full of grit. However, many are still deprived of education, financial freedom, and other basic rights. Raise Your Voice intends to bring your focus to these issues while also lauding women of their achievements.

“Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are finally able to come together again to celebrate women’s voices in literature. This festival is an important opportunity to highlight the contributions of women writers to the literary world. It provides a platform for women from different backgrounds and cultures to come together and share their experiences, perspectives, and stories through the written word” said Md. Khalid Hasan, Founder of Your Voice and Director of the festival “Raise Your Voice”.

This women’s literary festival excitedly celebrates diversity, culture, and social justice, with womanhood at its epicenter.

The women’s literary festival is organized by the Poetry platform Your Voice which has organized over 50 events in which more than 500 artists have performed across India.

First Edition, a big success

The first edition of Raise Your Voice was held in Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi in 2019. The event was organized on a large scale with great poets and speakers joining in. The entire day was full of live and energetic aura with informative performances. It was widely covered by major media houses as well.

Free space for women

Given the fact that free speech is highly essential in today’s times, Raise Your Voice is specifically aiming to give women a fair platform to speak their hearts out. This edition is solely dedicated to women, their stories, and their lives. The entire schedule has been planned to impart meaningful knowledge and reach a vast audience.

Women are suppressed and their voice is often left unheard. Raise Your Voice is organizing this event to depict that the voice of women is equally important as that of men. Gender equality is the need of the hour. From heinous crimes against women to gender biases at workplaces and in families, the event aims to provide a safe space to women. The speakers in this edition are pioneers in their fields and actively speak on women’s rights.
