ED Picture Story : Drama Workshop With Thalassemia Patients

-

By Sanchari Pal

Like cancer, thalassemia is one of those diseases that takes away a lot from you. A thalassemia patient fights for his/her life everyday. I attended a drama workshop especially for thalassemia patients in Kolkata where people between ages 5-15 came.

The experience of seeing these little children enjoy themselves forgetting their illness was a life changing moment.

It makes you value life!

These pictures describe their joy and my experience more than words will.

Working with these thalassemia patients taught me to value the little things in life and the only thing to look forward to is meeting these kids again.
