With so many fitness trainers, what qualities should you look for when hiring one? He should listen to you, understand your body types, recommend exercises according to your fitness level, set small fitness goals that you can reach easily, and provide a diet plan that’s not too challenging to follow. Dor Eckstein is an Israeli fitness instruction that does all this. He is much more than what you expect. Today, we are honored to have Mr. Eckstein with us.

Q: Thank you for sitting down with us today to share your story. How do you determine what exercise program or nutrition menu is best for your clients?

A: It’s a pleasure talking to you. I follow a simple four-fold process to help my clients. First, you contact me via video call or come to my clinic in Tel Aviv. Second, you tell me about what you like to eat, your workout habits, lifestyle, and how you want your body to look after six months. Third, I examine your body types, fat percentage, and metabolic rate. Fourth, I prepare a nutrition menu and training program based on the information you provide. My clients can come back for a follow-up meeting because I want to take a look at their progress and suggest any changes if required.

Q: Do you only get overweight clients who want to lose weight and get in shape?

A: Mostly, yes. Apart from them, I also have clients who want to build muscle mass. Even women want to look muscular these days. I also get clients who want to tone their muscles. Therefore, I’m not just an instructor who specializes in helping overweight people. If you’re going to get your body in shape in any way you want, you can contact me.

Q: How did you gain experience in this field?

A: My enthusiasm for fitness and nutrition started when I was 15. I joined a gym because I was overweight. My instructor also told me to follow a diet plan. That made me realize how fit I can stay if I get the combination right. Proper nutrition plus proper workout equals a fit and healthy body.

Once I noticed satisfactory results, I wanted to help people achieve the same because many struggles where and how to start. I studied a lot about fitness and nutrition back in the day, and in fact, I still go through academic journals that help me stay updated about the industry. I think that’s what gives me the capacity to handle so many clients successfully.

Q: What if a client is already slim? How will you deal with her?

A: Being slim doesn’t necessarily mean you’re healthy. I have tons of thin clients who want to tone their muscles. Some of them look too skinny, which isn’t how they want to look among their friends. They go through a muscle toning process that’s different from someone who wants to lose weight.
