The Ukraine and Russian war has been the only topic of news for almost a week now. The entire world is on the edge of its seat, trying to figure out what will eventually happen and how severe the results will be.
As a way to make Russia scale back on its invasion, several countries around the world have issued sanctions of various sorts on Russia, hoping the economic crisis because of them would dissuade Putin from taking any further action against Ukraine.
Amongst the many is obviously the United States of America and the US President Joe Biden has given many statements since the first attack was made on Ukraine by Russia a few days ago.
However, while addressing this in his State of the Union speech Biden made a pretty big mistake when he mistakenly referred to the people being affected as ‘Iranians’ instead of ‘Ukrainians’. Biden’s statement went like “Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he’ll never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people.”
In this, it is obvious that ‘Iranian people’ were actually ‘Ukrainian people’ who are currently in the middle of an invasion and living under constant fear. In a funny twist, this is not the first time that Biden has made such mistakes, often he is trending online for a misspoken word, wrong names and much more.

It seems that Biden has had another ‘Biden’ moment very similar to other moments seen to be had by former US President Donald Trump or even close to home our own Rahul Gandhi.
Trump Calling It ‘Thighland’

In August of 2020 Trump while giving a speech at the Whirlpool factory in Ohio, mispronounced Thailand as ‘Thighland’ while talking about how US companies often going abroad for jobs.
He said “In 2017 Whirlpool won relief from the ITC (US International Trade Commission) once again. Once more, your foreign competitors moved their factories to prevent a level playing field, and to avoid liability.
Shifting production to Thighland, and to Vietnam – ‘… ‘Two places that – I like their leaders very much – do they take advantage of the United States? Not so much anymore.”
Trump quickly though corrected his gaffe and said it as ‘Thailand’ itself, however, the damage had been done.
Rahul Gandhi’s Bhrashtachar Ya Balatkaar Moment
Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress President has had many moments of public gaffes that have given enough fodder for trolls and meme-makers to last a good few days or even weeks.
Some have lived into infamy, lines and memes that are still quoted till date no matter how many years pass them by. In light of Biden’s recent mistake, one has to remember back to the 3 Idiots moment that Gandhi had at a rally in Madhya Pradesh.
While giving a speech at the rally Gandhi started to talk about the rise in crime and violence against women in the state. During this he mistakenly it seems confused the word ‘bhrashtachar’ (corruption) with the word ‘balatkaar’ (rape).
