Law student to Fashion Blogger – Jeanette Mesquita

-

“Two roads diverged in a wood and I
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
– Robert Frost
In talks with Jeanette Mesquita, she says that this is the quote she has gone by her entire life. The journey to being one of the most prominent fashion bloggers in Bangalore, as she describes is, chaotic, fulfilling, and extremely busy.
Jeanette takes us through her journey telling us about how it was initially a struggle and to be completely candid, she never quite took it seriously. It kept her entertained and was an escape from the boring life of a Law student. As time went by, Jeanette realized that this was her calling and thus became more invested in it. From that point onwards, there was no looking back.
“It started out as a hobby, as I was pursuing law from Christ (Deemed to be University).
I am from Goa, where small-town expectations, objectives, and dreams are set. Hence when I first set foot in Bangalore, I was overwhelmed by the competition. I was initially part of the rat race to become the top law student and that didn’t work out despite my relentless efforts; but as they say, every failure eventually leads you to success, and in my case, it led me to a completely different path. Rather the road less traveled.”
Today, Jeanette Mesquita stands as an established Lifestyle and Fashion Blogger in Bangalore. With a community of 200k followers on Instagram, she tries to diversify and produce content that reaches everyone.
“I eventually would like to branch into other social platforms, with YouTube and Twitter predominately featuring in the list.” Jeanette tells us that she ‘obsessively consumes’ the advice of Social Media Marketing Guru Gary Vee. She sees as a walking inspiration and hopes to be an ultimate influencer like him.
