Govinda’s latest movie ‘Rangeela Raja’ has been delayed for release after the censor board ordered 20 cuts in the movie.
The veteran actor was a part of the press conference held by the crew of the film speaking against the cuts where he also opened up about the so-called conspiracy against him.
Rangeela Raja & CBFC:
Rangeela Raja is produced by former Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief Pahlaj Nihalani who in his tenure had given trouble to a lot of producers over simplest of issues.
In his 2.5 years regime, Pahlaj Nihalani had created a dilemma for movies like Badlapur, NH10, Bombay Velvet, Udta Punjab, Haramkhor, Lipstick Under My Burkha just to name a few.
He always used to reply that he has done nothing outside the rules when confronted about these movies and it is important to note that movies like Great Grand Masti were released without any issues.
The CBFC has imposed 20 cuts stating that the movie objectifies women and promotes violence against them, and they are correct. If the trailer of the movie is any indication of how the movie is going to be then, then it is going to be overtly sexual.

Of course, Pahlaj Nihalani fails to understand why that would be an issue, that’s what he has been doing in every movie he has produced before without facing consequences.
Govinda And His Conspiracy Theory:
Govinda feels that there are a group of people in the industry who are conspiring to not allow his films to release.
For the past nine years in his own words, Govinda’s films are not getting a release or not getting a good number of screens. The most recent example being of his movie ‘FryDay’ (Didn’t even know such movie existed) which according to him got good reviews by the media but the film was taken away from the theatres.
Govinda had teamed up with Pahlaj Nihalani in the past and even got his acting debut with him. Govinda claims also said that he has no supporters in the industry today and people have been asking Pahlaj Nihalani why is he still working with the actor.
Govinda also added that our film industry was never like this and it seems we are living in a different world.
The actor is just facing a life crisis and wants to take comfort in a conspiracy theory rather than face the fact that nobody wants to watch his movies which are nothing but cheap jokes and crass storyline.
We are living in a different world, a more progressive world where a woman has a role in movies other than just being objectified.
