Of course, Mumbai has its advantages.

Mumbai literally never stops. You step out at whatever time you wish to, especially if you are a woman, and you will feel that it is easier to breathe here in safety (pun intended) as compared to Delhi.

Mumbai people barely fight. You remember the still from Phir Hera Pheri where Paresh Rawal is screaming “Pakad mereko, mereko jaanta nahi hai ye.” That is exactly what happens here! NO KIDDING!

Mumbai peeps don’t stare at you to the level of making you uncomfortable. Of course, staring can’t stop completely, ultimately both cities are a part of India.

But despite the independence you have here, if you are a Delhi-ite, there will always be certain things that you will miss.

1) MUMBAI HAS EATABLES, DELHI HAS FOOD

In no way can one compare the food culture in Delhi and Mumbai.

Mumbai doesn’t know the aroma of good food. Here, if someone recommends me a ‘good place’ to eat, I will still find it 10 ranks lower to Delhi’s worst food joints. Be it Sambhar, Chhole Bhature (Oh, don’t even get me started) and sorry to offend Mumbaikars, but even Vada Pav and Pav Bhaji have a better taste in Delhi.

I MISS GOOD FOOD!

2) METRO HAS DOORS, LOCAL DOES NOT

I have done my share of traveling in the local trains here. Of course, they are the lifeline of Mumbai, but Delhi Metro has doors.

The people stuffing inside both is more or less the same, because, overpopulation.

But Metro has air conditioning.

I MISS THE COMFORT OF DELHI METRO!

3) DELHI HAS SEASONS, MUMBAI HAS RAINS

In the past 3 months that I have been in Mumbai, Delhi has seen a bit of two seasons: end of summer and mainly the monsoons. Mumbai, on the other hand, has seen rains, some more rains, oh and yes, floods because of rains.

I MISS THE DRY GROUND IN DELHI!

4) TAKING A BATH SERVES A PURPOSE IN DELHI

In Mumbai, you step out of the house and you are attacked by humidity, sweat, some more humidity and some more sweat.

I MISS MY WILL TO SAVE WATER BY NOT HAVING TO BATHE THRICE A DAY!

5) ‘I NEED SPACE’ HAS A WHOLE NEW MEANING IN MUMBAI

Let’s say you pay X amount in Mumbai and get a one-room-kitchen in that amount excluding electricity. Delhi, on the other hand, gives you a two-bedroom-hall-kitchen in the same amount including a maid who does the household chores.

I MISS MY HOME!
