March 15: Understanding and catering to a shift in travel behavior and content consumption, Making It Media (MIM) a production company with a knack for travel and destination content, is redefining the travel genre and destination-themed content. Recently MIM announced that its lifestyle program, ‘Staycation,’ won an Emmy Award in the ‘Outstanding Achievement: Lifestyle – Long Form’ category at the 47th Annual Pacific Southwest Emmy Awards.
During filming one of their episodes in Los Angeles, “Sierra Alta Villa”, MIM and the director Marvin Nuecklaus were looking to find a local crew and found Shivashish Ahuja, a New York Film Academy graduate right fit for their role. “I was blessed to be considered for this role. “Coming from a background where I believe in perfecting each shot, this shoot came with its own set of challenges.
Given the availability of the owner we had to finish filming in the house in just a couple of hours,” said Shivashish Ahuja. “It’s every cinematographer’s dream to be a part of something this special, and I am thankful to the entire team of MIM for trusting me.”
‘Staycation’ highlights local hotspots for travelers to enjoy and showcase a unique vacation experience. Featured destinations on the show range from luxurious vacation homes in Palm Springs to cabin holidays in Big Bear and Lake Tahoe to ocean-view homes in San Diego and Costa Rica. The show aired regionally on multiple broadcast stations & CBS affiliates in California, internationally on Roku TV, and was distributed to more than 5 million followers via Making It Media’s network of social media partners.
