Skateboarding is the new urban sport of India with dedicated skateparks in metropolitan cities like Delhi among others. It isn’t just an action sport but a disciplined way of life for some.

Nowadays, it isn’t just the rebellious youth who is taking part in skateboarding. The sport has managed to wiggle its way into the lives of the mainstream audience as well.

You can buy a mediocre skateboard for as little as 1000 rupees and no pre-requirements. One can reach an intermediate level of skill simply by taking online skateboarding videos seriously. Passion paired with consistency is the key to master this sport.

  1. Glad to see that a big company like Vans is organizing campaigns like “Girl Skate India”. Promoting not only an unusual sport like Skateboarding, but also promoting female participation from the get-go. Kudos!

  2. Backyard Skatepark, Delhi is an open to air street-style skatepark. It is an outdoor permanent facility and offers skateable concrete surface with perfect finishing. It provides wide range of features and elements including rails, ledges, banks, quarter pipes, pyramid and stairs. Coaching facility is also offered which makes it an ideal place for new learners. Seasoned skaters can practice and polish their skills.
